Feature: Halloween Sucks – Says Lily Drake Blog Hop

Vampires are known to be beautiful, yet mysterious and deadly. As soon as InkSpell Publishing had this blog hop about vampires, I immediately signed up. I just knew I had to feature these creatures of the dark. From books to movies, vampires are everywhere. Find out which vampire is my favourite..

Vampires are good-looking

Handsome and beautiful, their faces are flawless and humans fall in love with their beauty at first glance. Only once they drive their fangs into their victim’s necks do they seem dangerous.

Vampires can Seduce anyone

With their beauty, they can lure anyone into their lair, and take advantage of their prey. There’s even a notion that drinking blood from a human is similar to having sex for a vampire

Vampires Crave Blood

Whether it’s straight from a human’s neck or an animals (Think the vegetarians from the Twlight franchise) vampires will always crave blood. They’ll stop at nothing to get it and will even become so thirsty that their logical sense disappears.

Vampires are known to be successful movie franchises..

There’s movies like Queen of the Damned which is based on Anne Rice’s novels, where the vampire Lestat is a rock star seduced by the Queen. Then there’s the Underworld movie franchise where a beautiful vampire named Elena hunts down the race of Lycans until she falls in love with a half vampire, half lycan named Michael.

Vampires are also known in the literary world..

There are a lot of similarities with vampires in the media. Even more so in books. There’s the ever famous Vampire Diaries series which spun into the popular tv show starring Canadian Nina Dobrev. (I had the opportunity to meet her in person at We Day and she was very sweet and very tall. I completely fangirled trust me..)

Vampires can live forever, but they can still die..

Werewolves are known to be a vampire’s greatest enemy. They are sworn to kill each other and in most cases, the vampires always seem to win.

The Sun

Stepping foot outside in the sun will light a vampire into a fiery burning death, so it’s no wonder why they always seem to come out at night.

The Cross & Holy Water

Anything that is remotely holy is considered a weapon against any vampire so these are the common tools a slayer or vampire hunter will use.

And my favourite vampire is…Spike!

I remember watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and seeing Buffy kick their asses until they were dust. Buffy who was the Chosen One that was born to provide a balance to good and evil. Killing and hunting down vampires and demons herself, all she wanted to do was be a normal teenage girl. Then there was Angel, a broody vampire, Buffy falls in love with..Nope that’s not my favourite vampire.
You probably guessed it already. My favourite vampire is the bad boy Spike. He’s witty, charming, and he always straddled the line of good and evil. He’s my favourite.

I’ve had to tone it down with vampires lately since I feel like I’ve had way too many of them, however I still love The Vampire Academy series, it’s so addictive! and ever since starting T, oh my goodness those two are perfect!! hmm, so maybe I haven’t toned the vamp thing down that much :s
And you got to meet Nina! how lucky are you! 🙂

Loved the cover of Life and Death of Lily Drake! I’m not a fan of Buffy, because I haven’t even watched the series or anything. My favorite vampire is Damon from TVD and I’m so jealous/happy-for-you that you got to meet Nina, she’s so beautiful and I love her role on the TVD tv serie.
