Where would Book Nerd be without its readers? I remember starting my blog and having no one comment. I would comment on other blogs and visit, but I was still so new that no one knew who I was. And that’s where I steamrolled right into Twitter.
Twitter, the micro-blogging service that was supposed to be a way to journal your every day statuses in only 140 characters. But now, it’s a chat room. A world wide chat room, and what better way to talk to your blog readers than through Twitter? Sure, in the first few months of blogging, I hardly had any comments. None, zilch. I didn’t know what to do to get people to read my reviews except one little tip. Post it on Good Reads, and Amazon, and Chapters/Indigo. Anywhere and everywhere that book nerds will go to. That is how you gain readers.
And once you have people reading your reviews, they will earn your trust. And in doing so, your reputation at being honest, and open will follow you everywhere.
Thank you to all the readers that have read my reviews. It doesn’t matter if you read the entire thing, it doesn’t matter if you skimmed it, I am grateful that you have taken the time to read it in the first place. I love that you agree with me about a book that I disliked. I love that you disagree with me about a book that I loved. I love hearing everyone’s opinions on any of the books that they have read.
I wish the discussion doesn’t end at writing a review and having one or two comments, but sometimes it does. This is why I like going back and replying to each comment that I have. The discussion continues..I hope that more readers will come and visit, and that our discussion about books will continue.
Cheers to all the readers of my blog! This post is for you. *hugs all*
