Chapters is my favourite bookstore and I like the photos because they capture what being an author and reader is all about. It would be awesome to win an ARC. I have not had the opportunity to read this Author’s books, but this will be on my TBR list. Thanks for the chance.

I love that you ran into another book blogger who recognized you. I wish Maggie would come back to London, I missed her when she was here last summer. My favourite book by her (so far) is Shiver but I have heard The Scorpio Races might steal that spot.

    October 11, 2012 at 4:21 PM

So jealous you got to meet Maggie she is one of my fave authors. My blog partner Kelly couldn’t make it her signing in Brampton for us for some serious personal reasons it was hard for me since I was busy before hand also .But her Shiver Series is beyond what I expected I fell in love right from the start!!!

  17. Ashley

    October 9, 2012 at 11:17 AM

I so far haven’t read any of her books! eep! *Sad Face* She’s an author I never knew about until recently but I am DYING to read Raven Boys. Like DYING! All I’ve heard is good things!

    October 9, 2012 at 11:14 AM

You’re one lucky chic! I wish Hamilton had more of a draw, no one ever really comes here, maybe I should start a petition about getting mroe signings here LOL
Since I don’t drive I’m kinda SOL on going out to many other GTA locations… πŸ™ one day perhaps lol

  19. Chrystal @ Snowdrop Dreams of Books

    October 9, 2012 at 12:27 AM

Looks like it was a very fun event! πŸ™‚ I haven’t read anything by Maggie yet, but I have the fist in the Shiver series in my TBR pile. Though Raven Boys appeals to me more.

I love that you bumped into a fellow Canadian book blogger while there – how fun!

  20. Sarah O

    October 5, 2012 at 2:46 AM

This is terrible but I haven’t read any of her books yet. Strangely, I do want to read them, but lately I’ve been gravitating almost exclusively towards the contemporary genre so I guess that’s why. Can’t wait to read this book though.

  21. Zara Alexis

    October 5, 2012 at 1:20 AM

I can’t believe I didn’t know this was happening! I’m five minutes away from the Chapters in Brampton!!! Argghhhhh! (But, still glad you went and were able to post all about it!). I don’t have a favourite book by the author…perhaps “The Raven Boys” will be the one! Thanks as always, Giselle.

  22. .Ambur.

    October 3, 2012 at 11:07 PM

I’m not sure which Maggie Stiefvater book was my favourite! I think I’m leaning towards Shiver though. I really enjoyed the first one in the trilogy, but I did love the others, too…which is why I’m not sure how to choose! haha I haven’t read any of her other books yet, but I definitely want to! πŸ˜€

  38. Fiery Na

    September 26, 2012 at 6:41 PM

I don’t normally attend a lot of signings either because I don’t hear of many in my area. I’m going to make it a point to look up for more signings in the Chapters in my area. They look so fun!

The what you learned points are really helpful πŸ™‚

  39. Stephanie T.

    September 26, 2012 at 6:07 PM

Sadly, I haven’t read any yet. Raven Boys and Scorpio Races are on my TBR list though! I hope I can get to them soon.

  40. SweetMarie83

    September 26, 2012 at 5:40 PM

Giselle, you’re so lucky! I always feel a mixture of excitement and disappointment when I hear authors I love are going to be in the Toronto area because it’s great that they’re touring in Canada, but it sucks because it’s so close to me (2-3 hours depending where in the Toronto area) but it might as well be the other side of the world because I have no way to get there and no one to go with! *sigh* Hopefully someday.

It’s so cool you got to meet Maggie, and it sounds like a lot of fun. And how awesome that you were recognized! I haven’t actually read any of her books yet, but I was hoping to start with The Raven Boys. Thanks for a chance to win! πŸ™‚

So lucky! πŸ˜€ I hope she comes to Vancouver sometime.
I’ve only been to one book signing and it was great.
I can’t wait to read The Raven Boys.
I think I like all of her books about equally so far. I actually really loved The Scorpio Races though. I liked that it was a stand alone book and I found the ending to be beyond beautiful.

  54. Grace Lo

    September 26, 2012 at 3:01 AM

I don’t know . . . They’re all fantastic. I loved Lament, because of its bittersweet ending, Ballad because it broke my heart in so many ways, Shiver because of its beautiful introduction to the trilogy, getting to Isabelle and Cole in Linger, and the gorgeous ending in Forever. I haven’t read The Raven Boys, and hope to do so soon!

  55. Rebecca

    September 26, 2012 at 1:51 AM

I haven’t read anything by Maggie but I’ve heard some great things. Your either either a fan of her work or your not, that’s what I think with the mixed comments recently. Sounds like you had a blast, glad you had a good time!

  56. Jaime Lester

    September 26, 2012 at 1:41 AM

I live in South Carolina, and there are never YA author book signings and I hate it. I would love to be able to go to signings and hear some of my favorite authors speak. I love Maggie’s books, her writing style, and characters. She is amazing. As of now, Lament and Ballad are equally my favorite Maggie books. I think The Raven Boys has the chance to take that top spot, though. Thanks for the chance to win!

  57. Megan Conway

    September 26, 2012 at 1:37 AM

I went to Maggie’s FOREVER signing last year and it was really fun, but sadly I could not attend this one as I had night school πŸ™ I hope she does a signing in TO or somewhere close for her next book *fingers crossed*

And my favourite Maggie book? Definitely BALLAD, though I’m sure that will change once I read THE RAVEN BOYS πŸ˜‰

  58. Holly W

    September 26, 2012 at 1:34 AM

I am so happy you got to go! I wish I lived closer, we could totally go together! And I agree, authors are my kind of celebrity for sure. I really enjoyed the Mercy Falls series, and I have lamant and ballad on my shelf waiting to be rad.
