Once again Violet Eden faces an impossible choice ... and the consequences are unimaginable.

Violet has come to terms with the fact that being part angel, part human, means her life will never be as it was.

Now Violet has something Phoenix - the exiled angel who betrayed her - will do anything for, and she has no intention of letting it fall into his hands. The only problem is that he has something she needs too.

Not afraid to raise the stakes, Phoenix seemingly holds all the power, always one step ahead. And when he puts the final pieces of the prophecy together, it doesn't take him long to realise exactly who he needs in order to open the gates of Hell.

With the help of surprising new allies, ancient prophecies are deciphered, a destination set and, after a shattering confrontation with her father, Violet leaves for the islands of Greece without knowing if she will have a home to return to...

Violet is back in the third installment of the series and she is still just as confused. Her growing powers are frightening her and the fact that she can’t be with the one she loves is sheer torture. With all the emotional turmoil Violet goes through she manages to still be as strong as ever.

I can’t even begin to describe how passionate chapter 24 was. It killed me. My heart just went out to these two characters who couldn’t even be together. It’s painful, heartbreaking and if you haven’t been in love or found your soul-mate, you wouldn’t have any idea what it means. I hope people reading this will remember not to be so cynical about romance in novels because not everyone understands what it’s like. I do and trust me when I say what Violet goes through is in a way exactly what happens when you can’t be with someone you love.

Lincoln is this pure and tortured soul and I can’t help but want to learn more about him and his thoughts. I would have found it interesting if this series was written in dual perspectives. And you can’t forget about the secondary characters like Spence and Steph. Too many characters to remember you’ll need a read through just to remember them all. I kind of wished there was one of those lists in the back where you can see their names and who they are and what classification they are.

This was compared to the Twilight series on the back of the ARC and I always wondered why. It’s nothing like that. It may be a paranormal read, but the characters are completely different. The comparison of Twilight in the sense that there are warriors (with special powers which I always found the coolest) and the forbidden love she has with her soul-mate, plus the love triangle. I have to admit I like Violet as a character only because she wasn’t someone you can mess with.

Loved all the character development.

Pacing is good enough. I wasn’t bored at all either.

Definitely pretty, but I always had issues when the head is cut off in book covers. LOL

So great! Glad some questions were answered!

Overall, a wonderful addition to the Violet Eden Chapters!

That would look ravishing on you. Would you like me to buy it for you? I could throw in the ravishing if you like. (41)
I don’t want your emotions running through me. It’s like some kind of poison. (43)
Everyone wanted me to be someone I wasn’t. (289)
If there is one who would create all things in this world, that one must be capable of creating both the greatest good and the greatest evil. It must be one and the same, just as angels are both and humans are some form of disturbing sub-breed. (334)
When denied for long enough, souls can take on a mind of their own. Sex is the obvious form of joining, but if a connection is strong enough, it can find it’s way through other things. A look, a kiss, a touch, words, declarations. The soul can reach through anything if it is stirred by them. You may not be fully joined to him, but the process has begun and your soul is clawing at you from the inside out. (346)
I’d give you my soul in an instant, even if it meant I had to spend eternity in torment—just for one moment with you as mine. (392)

I’ve never read anything by Jessica Shirvington, so this series is somewhat foreign to me! I’m not a huge fan of angel books. I liked the Hush, Hush series right up until I read the last book, Finale, and hated it. I actually kind of like the cover, but overall, the covers for this series aren’t that great. Anyway, great review! I probably won’t read this series, but I’m glad you’re liking them! 🙂

I can’t wait to read this next installment in a series that is easily at the top of my favorites list. I hate what Violet and Lincoln have to endure. I can tell you right now that I would move Heaven and Earth to be with my amazing husband. Thankfully, I don’t have to. It would be the worst torture to be kept from him. So I do get it. Thanks so much for this review. It makes me even more ready to get this book in my hands!
