top-ten-tuesday_header

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. We’d love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists. For the list of past topics and future schedule, click here.

Authors That I’d Put On My Auto-Buy List

1.

Brenna Yovanoff

author_brenna-yovanoff_photo

I pretty much devoured The Space Between and Paper Valentine, so
that pretty much puts Brenna on my Auto-Buy List 😀

2.

Jeyn Roberts

author_jeyn-roberts_photo

One of the very first ARCs I’ve ever read when I was at Vervegirl was Dark Inside and I loved it! Jeyn has a wonderful writing style and the pacing in her books are just so fast.

3.

Michelle Hodkin

author_michelle-hodkin_photo

Who wouldn’t want to buy everything that Michelle buys? Have you not read any of the Mara Dyer books yet? I suggest you do because she writes twists and turns with a paranormal romantic style.

 4.

Sophie Kinsella

author_sophie-kinsella_photo

I’ve been a fan of Sophie’s ever since I picked up the Shopaholic series. She has a way of writing hilarious female characters that always get into trouble.

5.

Meg Cabot

author_meg-cabot_photo

Of course I’d pretty much buy anything by Meg Cabot. I’ve read her books since I was a teenager and I’m so excited she’s releasing more novels in the Mediator series which sparked my interest for paranormal love!

6.

Kendare Blake

author_kendare-blake_photo

Who else can creep me out at night and have me stay up and read all night long? Kendare is just too awesome for words, so I can’t wait for her next series, only this time it’s about mythology 😛

7.

J.K. Rowling

author_jk-rowling_photo

Now I DNF’d The Casual Vacancy, but I know I will eventually come back to it. It might have to do with the fact that I keep comparing her writing to Harry Potter, and you can’t compare that series to anything. I will always check out J.K.’s books no matter what anyone says.

8.

Tahereh Mafi

author_tahereh-mafi_photo

Everyone pretty much knows I’m a fan of Tahereh..Any book she comes out with will be pre-ordered and bought!

9.

Rick Riordan

author_rick-riordan_photo

I’ve only read two of Rick’s books, but I absolutely loved them. SO many amazing adventures, and characters to love. Rick is definitely on my list!

10.

D.J. MacHale

author_dj-machale_photo

D.J. is one of my favourite middle grade/children authors and I will pretty much devour anything he writes. I can’t wait to read my copy of SYLO too!

Yep, I am with you on most of them. I love D.J McHale, Brenna Yovanoff blows my mind, you can’t go wrong with Michelle Hodkin and she is great for creepy, Meg Cabot is fabulous, Kendare Blake is the queen of scary, Tahereh Mafi is Tahereh Mafi, and J.K Rowling needs absolutely no explanation. With such great authors on your list, I will have to check out the ones that I haven’t had experience with yet!

C Feehan, PC Cast, J Armentrout, JD Robb, jeez, I have so many auto buys that I’m surprized that I have room for newbies–but I do.

  27. Susan (Bloggin' 'bout Books)

    February 26, 2013 at 1:01 PM

Totally agree on Rowling (except when it comes to CASUAL VACANCY) — if she ever publishes another MG or YA, it will for sure be on my auto-buy list.

Glad to have found you via TTT!

Kendare Blake made my list, as well, and right now I’m flipping between Girl of Nightmares (which is soooooo good), and a book I won in a giveaway(that is sooooo bad) so that I keep reading the second book–I can’t read more Girl of Nightmares until I read so much of the bad book…and before you ask, since I got it for free, I feel somewhat obligated to read and review it, and by gosh I’ve made it this far I WILL FINISH IT even though the mildly boring book has devolved into a pile of hot steaming mess.

  29. Brandy @ A Little of the Book Life

    February 26, 2013 at 11:02 AM

Great list! I love Brenna Yovanoff as well. And JK Rowling! 🙂 I haven’t read Kendare Blake or Tahereh Mafi yet, although they are both on my shelf. I can’t wait to see if I agree.
