Top Ten Books I’ve Read So Far In 2013

hex-hall_rachel-hawkins_cover

10.

Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins

I love Sophie’s attitude and snarkiness. There’s something about a character that just makes you grip the pages and keep reading until it’s done. She is fierce, loyal, intelligent, brave and one of the most sarcastic and wittiest characters I have ever read.

siege-and-storm_leigh-bardugo_cover

9.

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

Having loved Shadow and Bone, I knew I was going to enjoy this one. This one had a lot more character development than the other one, but it also had a ton of action at the end that I gave it a higher rating.

juliet-immortal_stacey-jay_cover

8.

Juliet Immortal by Stacey Jay

By loving all things Shakespeare, I knew that I had to read this one, and I’m glad I did because this is one read that I couldn’t put down. If the star crossed lovers turned out to be enemies, what would happen? I loved this brilliant story and I hope everyone gets a chance to read this one.

the-beautiful-and-the-cursed_page-morgan_cover

 7.

The Beautiful and the Cursed by Page Morgan

Page writes Ingrid’s story with her beautiful storytelling, the violent murders, and the mysterious secrets that surrounds The Beautiful and the Cursed‘s world. Highly recommended for fans looking for a supernatural read.

paper-valentine_brenna-yovanoff_cover

6.

Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff

I wanted it to move along with the wonderful character development but it was sorely lacking. It finally appeared at least around the 166th page, so yay! I didn’t mind for the wait because the relationship between Hannah and Finny, and Hannah’s friendship with Lillian surface to further distract me until then.

sever_lauren-destefano_wow-cover

5.

Sever by Lauren DeStefano

Lauren has a way of writing that makes you stay in the character’s life and not think about anything or anyone else. She has this keen ability to write about the human mind and all its wonders. Her writing is on point and this one was a little longer than the others but it was still a fabulous read.

out-of-the-easy_ruta-sepetys_cover

4.

Out of The Easy by Ruta Sepetys

The writing is fluid, humorous, infectious and downright entertaining! I couldn’t stop reading until the very end. Mind you, there were some very predictable parts but that’s probably just me unraveling the mystery as I read along.

dont-turn-around_michelle-gagnon_cover

3.

Don’t Turn Around by Michelle Gagnon

Don’t Turn Around is written in dual perspectives and I’ve always loved different point of views because it adds so much more dimension to the storyline. So fast-paced, I couldn’t stop reading. And there were just so many questions I needed to answer that my mind itself was racing to figure it all out. This book is for any techy geek or anyone interested in a mystery or even conspiracy.

shades-of-earth_beth-revis_cover

2.

Shades of Earth by Beth Revis

This had a ton of plot development and so much history between the characters. I couldn’t stop reading it. What a wonderful ending to a beautifully written trilogy!

the-fifth-wave_rick-yancey_cover
1.

The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

This one book that will put the Hunger Games to shame for its sheer emotional character development, fast-paced action and a simple but true plot that I’m highly recommending this to everyone I know. Seriously.

This is a really great list and the majority of these are on my TBR list but I’ve only read The 5th Wave. I loved how fast-paced it was and how sarcastic Cassie was. I couldn’t help but think it would make a great movie while reading it! 🙂

I really loved Wither but didn't like Fever all that much, so I feel a bit hesitant about Sever. I agree about DeStefano's writing though, so I'll definitely check it out at some point! Also, of course I have to see how it all ends 😉
