One of my goals for this year is to finish Game of Thrones but I’m not sure if I can do it! Perpetually stuck on page 400 while everyone zips through the series. I hope you fare better than me and enjoy your books, Giselle. <3

One of my goals for this year is to finish Game of Thrones, WILL I DO IT? There’s only two months left but probably not, perpetually stuck on page 400. I hope you fare better than I do (people seem to zip through it!) and enjoy all your books, Giselle! <3

I was given A Game of Thrones for my birthday last year and still haven’t read it for some reason. I think it’s because part of me knows that if I start, and love it, I’ll want to read the entire series immediately. The problem is that I started watching the tv series first, so I don’t want to read past the point of what they’ve shown. I know it’s silly, especially since the show will go on for years longer, but I’d rather stick to the order I started with. I think, as well, I’m less concerned about the show spoiling the books because the books are huge and encompass so many different storylines that there’s still a lot more to find out. But if I ruin something from the show, it could be a huge part of that season, narratively speaking, because they have so much less time to try and include everything. I hope that made sense.

    • Giselle

      November 1, 2012 at 2:25 AM

That definitely made sense Sarah! I know how it is when you you want to watch/read something in order. We book lovers are anal retentive like that!

Wow, great haul this week. I have the first 2 books of the A Song of Fire and Ice series but I have yet to read them. I do have the DVD for the first season of the TV series and it really is awesome. I usually never watch before reading so hopefully the books are as good.

I’m really interested in R.L Stine’s new book. Goosebumps fan here too! I probably read most of them as a teenager.

    • Giselle

      November 1, 2012 at 2:43 AM

I’m completely the same way. I always have to read the books before watching anything on screen.

      I read them as a kid 😀

Gaaaah, I want to go to the blogger meet up so bad! I didn’t get to go last year and I didn’t have a way to get this year either, so knew there was no point getting a ticket. Now I’m even sadder because I’d have loved to meet you! *cries* AND Elizabeth Miles is going to be there?! ARGH!!! Next year I am definitely going, I hate missing out!

I had no idea RL Stine was even still writing books. I loved his Fear Street books, and I think it’d be cool to check out an adult book by him. Enjoy all your new books, Giselle! 🙂

Ohmygosh. This is the first time I saw Envy’s matching cover from the original one. What do you think of the new covers?

    • Giselle

      November 1, 2012 at 3:03 AM

I guess they used the UK covers for the American counterparts, and then they redesigned them again for the next book release. It’s pretty I think! It’s just funny how she’s sideways lol

  42. Grace Lo

    October 20, 2012 at 5:41 AM

Is it bad to say that I am jealous of every one of your book hauls? Cause I am c:
I’ve heard a lot about A Song of Fire and Ice (the books) and my friends freaking out over the show, so why haven’t I started reading them? I need to do that soon. I personally thought Onyx was pretty good, although I felt like it didn’t live up to the first book. And OMG!!! You have Rebel Heart! *Insert image of me drooling over the books. Like, not getting them wet. Because that’s kind of sacrilegious.* I wasn’t a huge Goosebumps fan when I was younger because I was a huge chicken but I want to read Red Rain! And as for Blind Spot, I’ve heard nothing but greatness for it c:
And I totally get how you can’t put on makeup properly. I tried a few times and end up looking like a raccoon with spider-legs as eyelashes. Well, probably not that bad. But still.

    • Giselle

      November 1, 2012 at 3:02 AM

Aww don’t be jealous..You know I have to read them all..Sometimes it can be overwhelming. People don’t realize it can be stressful. But it’s worth it!

I put makeup on in 5 minutes lol
